Dan was the SVC for Vachharajpur Village Well and created a holiday card from iPhoto that told the story of the well. He emailed and sent the card to a select group of friends and family. He received checks for $250, $500, and $1,000, including one from his high school English teacher that heard about the project from Dan’s mother.

A group of tri-athletes from Washington, Chicago, and New York are each choosing a 1Well project and raising money during their training. They will be racing in the Columbia Triathlon in May, Hyannis Sprint Tri in June, New York Triathlon in July, and Chicago Triathlon in August. 1Well is developing the Philanthrepetes program for participants in 5K/10Ks, half and full marathons, triathlons and in any other race events our SVCs choose.

Matt is the SVC for the Sedla Village Check Dam. He is raising $3,500 and organized a 5K run in Minneapolis. He chose a meeting place in a city park, marked off the course with playground chalk, and everyone discussed the project as they ran along the Mississippi River together. Matt also received free coffee and doughnuts from Krispy Kream, and raffle prizes from Best Buy and local restaurants.

Mac is the SVC for the Mulada Village Well and is raising $1,400. He plans to set up a lemonade stand during summer events in Chicago to raise the money. When asked how long he thinks it will take, he said, “Well, I raised $500 last year in one day, so I figure 3-4 days will do it.”

Affinity Lab is choosing its project and plans to hold an art auction featuring local artists with all proceeds going to their project.

Heather is choosing her project. She will be throwing a party at a local restaurant to raise the money.

A Washington, DC SVC is putting together a plan to bring local DC bands together for a 1Well concert event with all proceeds going to a 1Well project. The concert will be taped and sold on iTunes.
